Ice Climbing & Glacier Photos

Here are more photos from our adventure on the ice the other day!

The glacier has been receding from the point where this photo was taken to it’s current location since 1970. It is still actively molding the landscape and creating the dirt mounds and smaller lakes seen in the foreground.

The group hiked about a half a mile across the glacial moraine before we reached the ice and donned our crampons.

Our guide, Alma, covered the basics of getting a good grip with both the studs of our crampons and then with our ice picks before we began climbing.
